I feel a sense of belonging at SVSU despite my very short time here. I believe that my department has my best interest in mind as well as my students' best interest in mind when making decisions. I feel an appropriate balance of autonomy and compromise are valued and expected. Additionally, the benefits are excellent and I feel like a part of a thriving community when I think about my work and how it fits into my life satisfaction overall.

President's Statement

We have a great culture, benefits and facilities, but we are a "great college" because of our people. We have an extraordinary care and concern for one another and a shared commitment to our cause. Our SVSU community rallied to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic by serving as a vaccination site, delivering nearly 50,000 doses; dozens of faculty, staff and students volunteered for each event. When it mattered most, our people rose to the challenge.
